The PLIADES project proudly hosted Workshop Session No. 43 titled “Data Spaces for the Development of AI and Robotic Applications” during the European Robotics Forum 2025 (ERF2025), held in Stuttgart, Germany from 25–27 March.

The workshop brought together more than 50 participants from research, industry, and policy backgrounds, highlighting the growing interest in the role of federated and interoperable data spaces in accelerating AI-driven robotic applications across key sectors like mobility, healthcare, and industry.
Key Topics Explored
The event opened with an insightful introduction to Data Spaces and their emerging role in Europe’s digital strategy. This was followed by a series of presentations on:
- Cross-sector Data Space implementation (Mobility, Healthcare, Industry)
- The PLIADES architecture for robotics data ecosystems
- End-user perspectives
The session concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Franziska Kirstein (Blue Ocean Robotics), where all speakers exchanged views on the challenges and opportunities of adopting data spaces in real-world scenarios.
