We are pleased to share the release of a new joint publication arising from the collaborative workshop held at Data Week 2025 in Athens, titled:
“Navigating Challenges and Strategies for Data Sharing and Integration in the Data Space Era”
Read the publication on Zenodo.
Led by the CyclOps project, and co-organised by the Horizon Europe projects DS2, CEDAR , NOUS and PLIADES, the workshop brought together key actors from across the European data landscape to examine the most pressing issues hindering effective and scalable data sharing.
The discussion was organized in three main blocks, starting with a 1st block focused on getting a better understanding of who is the user of the different solutions that are being created to allow for data sharing, integration and leverage Data Spaces, and what is their expected added value sought. Once the user was identified, the discussion moved to the barriers to delivering value and the main pain points these users find. The third block allowed to share innovative approaches the projects are developing to overcome selected obstacles, and how these solutions contribute to Data Spaces and align with the DSSC blueprint and its building blocks.
Kosmas Tsiakas represented the PLIADES project, contributing practical insights on data integration and real-world implementation challenges from our work.
The joint outcome stands as a valuable resource for practitioners, policymakers and innovators engaged in shaping future European Data Spaces.
