Projects PLIADES, CyclOps, DS2, CEDAR, and NOUS are joining forces to explore how we can jointly overcome barriers to seamless data sharing, drive cross-sector collaboration, and deliver tangible value to users and stakeholders.

Workshop objectives:

  • Explore the diverse profiles of users and stakeholders that can benefit from data sharing and Data Space initiatives, and the added-value these users and stakeholders expect from accessing and sharing data.
  • Explore the needs and aspirations of these users and stakeholders and the barriers to deliver the expected value, starting from the insights obtained in different domains by the participant projects.
  • Discuss how various projects can address the needs and barriers of users to align with the evolving real-world landscape and cultivate a community of practice.

Workshop description:

The potential of data sharing, particularly through Data Spaces, offers significant opportunities for the innovation community to address societal and business challenges. However, numerous obstacles must be navigated to effectively unlock this potential. This session aims to identify the critical challenges faced by industry and stakeholders in achieving seamless data sharing and leveraging Data Spaces across various sectors and domains. Furthermore, it will explore innovative strategies to overcome these obstacles. The workshop will involve various projects under the HORIZON-CL4-2023-DATA-01-02 topic (CyclOps, DS2, CEDAR, NOUS and PLIADES) and engage interested stakeholders from the data and AI innovation community, with a strong emphasis on encouraging SME participation. The workshop will explore the variety of profiles of users and stakeholders that can benefit from data sharing and Data Space initiatives, the expected added-value from these users, as well as their needs starting from the insights obtained in different domains by the participant projects. It will be discussed how the bird-of-a-feather projects address these needs, to align the developments with the real-world evolving landscape and create a community of practice. Participants will identify barriers to delivering value and share innovative approaches to overcoming these obstacles. The workshop will foster idea generation and knowledge sharing using different methodologies and tools.

PLIADES brings to this dialogue its commitment to enabling secure, sovereign, and scalable data sharing infrastructures that empower public and private sector collaboration.
